BRANDED
ITEMS: Special discounts are applied for Lighthouse
branded items. Ask your sales rep for details and availability.
COLORS:
Note that colors of items shown in the catalog may not
be identical due to photography. If color shade is critical,
random samples are available for customer approval, prior
to production. Where items are available in more than one
color, customer must specify color choice(s). If no item color is specified, colors may be chosen by factory. If imprint color is not specified, color may be chosen by factory.
COMBINED
QUANTITY PRICING: A single order with more than one
item from the same line, to be shipped at the same time, to same address, may
be eligible for combined quantity pricing. Minimum quantities
as indicated for each item apply. Items MUST be in the same
price category (i.e. within $1.00) Not applicable to “stock”
tags.
CONSECUTIVE
NUMBERING: $20.00 set-up plus 20¢ (G) each running
charge. Add 2 to 5 business days to production time. Not available on silk
screened or pad printed items.
COPY
CHANGES: $40.00 per change. Color changes are billed at $20.00 per color.

EXPORT
SHIPMENTS: Add $25.00 per order.
IMPRINT GUARANTEE:
Items marked Perma-dure® process and doming process
have guaranteed imprints for the life of the product. Hot
stamped printing is not permanent and cannot be guaranteed
against rubbing off. Factory will not allow any credit for
friction wear. Hot stamping in white foil is not recommended.
On silk screened and pad printed items, gold and silver
have a matte finish, and cannot be produced with a glossy
finish. Exact color match cannot be guaranteed on reruns.
We will supply best color imprint for item if not specified
on order.
LESS
THAN MINIMUM: Add $30.00. One half of lowest quantity
is absolute minimum. Less than minimum quantities are not
available all items and sale priced items are excluded.

OR UNDERRUNS: All orders are subject to 5% factory over run or under

ORDERING:

by fax. All custom printing orders are accepted
on prepaid basis. Payment may also be made with check or

PMS
COLOR MATCH: PMS matching is availabe on most items, however it is not available on hot stamped
or stress-ease items. If exact match is not required, we will match standard colors
as closely as possible at no extra charge. PMS color matches are available on silk screened, pad printed,
letterpress and digital offset items, but have some color limitations. PMS matches cannot be guaranteed on dark colored
items.

STANDARD
PRODUCTION Production time varies depending on the specific
item. Standard production is 6 to 12 business days. Orders

PROOFS:
A proof is a printed layout from the art department that
allows the client to review the layout for approval or make
any necessary changes before the production order is run.
The proof layout is shown on a printed template of the actual
item. The order will not go into production until the final
proof is approved by the client. Fax proofs are available
upon request at $10.00 per copy and are recommended for
layout, size and spelling approval only. Complimentary paper
proofs may be faxed at the discretion of the art department.
REORDERS:
Orders repeated within 24 months of the original order may
be eligible for reduced rate setup charges. To qualify for
reduced setup charge, order must be for the exact same item
and use the same copy. Not all items qualify for reduced
setup charge. The previous order number and order date must
be furnished when requesting a repeat order setup discount.

RETURNS:
“Stock Tags” & BLANK PARTS will have a restocking charge
of 25% of billing plus full shipping charges. Blank cases
(DP-16, DP-225, DP-226) may not be returned. Printed orders
may not be returned and will not be accepted without written
authorization. A Lighthouse Logo return authorization number must appear
on the outside of any returns. Complaints must be filed within 30 days of shipment. Random samples
may not be returned for credit. Return shipping charges must be prepaid.

All domestic orders are shipped via U.P.S. Ground unless
otherwise specified. Larger shipments may be shipped via
common carrier. We can not assume responsibility for transit
delays, or for customs delays on international orders. Insurance

original order or may be billed following order shipment.

PRE-PRODUCTION
SAMPLES: Samples or 'mach-up' that are to be produced
for approval prior to production of a confirmed order, are
invoiced at a minimum of $25.00-$50.00. Price will vary
depending on spec sample item.
RANDOM
SAMPLES: Are billed at end quantity pricing plus shipping charges.
SPEC
SAMPLES: Customized items that are not based on a confirmed
order and are speculative in nature, are invoiced at $25.00-$50.00
plus all applicable charges per catalog item description, i.e.
multi-color/2nd location charges, PMS color match charge, copy
changes, and set-up charges. The unit cost of a Spec Sample is
rebatable upon receipt of an order for exact reproduction of the
spec sample.
UNIMPRINTED
PRODUCT: Non-printed items are available at catalog
prices with no setup charges. Non-imprinted items will usually
ship in 1 to 3 business days.

ACCEPTABLE
FILE FORMATS FOR DISKS OR E-MAIL:PC format EPS, AI, FH or TIFF. MAC files also acceptable.
EPS—The file must have all fonts converted
to outlines(convert to paths in FreeHand). This should be
a vector file. A vector file is resolution-independent—that
is, it can be scaled to any size and printed on any output
device at any resolution without losing its detail or clarity.
Do not import Photoshop, or raster graphics such as bmp or jpeg into into Illustrator
as this will not create clear vector.
FHxx—Send
in native format. Convert all text to paths.
CDR—Save all native Corel Draw files as CDR
version 7 compatible. All Corel Files must be Vector file
(no imported pictures).
QXD—(Mac only) Save all Quark files as QXD.
All fonts and placed images must be included on disk or
e-mailed along with the Quark file.
TIFF—The source file must be 600 dpi
and sent as a one color file. If the logo has multiple colors
the client must supply the file as black & white with
the color separations. Additional charges may apply. A color composite must be provided with the order.

FONTS:
It is recommended that all text be converted to paths/outlines
when possible. If this is not possible; all Fonts, Font
Suitcases, Printer Fonts and Screen Fonts must be included.
Sans serif fonts are what we recommend for the best printing
results. If it is necessary to use a serif font, be sure
the point size will be large enough to print clearly. Serif
and Script fonts are not recommended on small items nor
do they print well in all caps. Please see our list of in-house
typestyles.

ACCEPTABLE
MEDIA: PC format diskette, CD-ROM or send files via
E-mail. The file MUST include a composite (hard copy) of
artwork with your order. All PMS colors must be identified
on the printout. Fax or mail hardcopy.
FOUR
COLOR PROCESS (CMYK): Four color process is available on select
items. Please call for details and availability.

CAMERA-READY
ART GUIDELINES:
• Black & white line art on flat photographic paper
• 600 dpi (or higher) laser prints, preferable at 200% of final
size.
• Multi-Color Artwork: Provide a black and white and a color separated
layout with registration marks for each color

SPOT
COLORS: Most printing is done in spot colors utilizing
the Pantone Matching System (PMS). All files containing
RGB or CMYK must be converted into spot colors (PMS). The
colors must be clearly identified in the file as well as
on the composite (printed hard copy).

HALFTONES:
All camera-ready art supplied with halftones must be “to-size”
with a 65–133 line screen. Silkscreen items 60–85 lpi, Pad printed
items 50–65 lpi, Offset items up to 133 lpi. Halftones can’t be
printed on Hot stamp items, stress relievers, or textured surfaces,
such as portfolios.

UNACCEPTABLE
ARTWORK/TEXT FILES: Faxes or copies of faxes, photocopies,
photographs, slides, transparencies, letterheads, business
cards, laser art printed with a resolution of 600 or less,
actual products, or any other art that needs to be touched
up, color separated or made one color. We will only take
film if supplied correctly to specifications. Text files
from word processing files such as Word can be used for
text only printing and can not be used for graphics.

STRAIGHT
LINE COPY: We will typeset your copy if we have the
font that was used to create your text file. Please provide
the font name and a printed sample of the font. If exact
font is not provided, we will select the font that will
work best.
ART
CHARGES: Art charges for edits, touch-ups and format
changes will be assessed according to time and difficulty. Graphic design services are also available.

ARTWORK
RETURN REQUESTS: Artwork will be returned upon written
request after completion of order and payment of invoice.
Written requests may be made via mail, fax or E-mail.

as individual color separations. All colors must

AVAILABLE TYPESTYLES
Please
choose font by name. The Adobe Font Library and the Corel Draw
Font Library are also available in addition to this list. If a
printed sample is sent in to match a typestyle, please provide
the font name beside the example. Please note that serif fonts
are not recommended on small items nor do they print well in all
caps. We do not recommend using any text smaller than 6 points
for Pad Print and Silk Screen items, and no smaller than 7 points
for Hot Stamp.

marked by Asterisk are also available in bold and italic styles.
For legibility purposes script typestyles such as Freestyle Script,
Kuenstler Script, Nuptial Script, or Park Avenue are NOT recommended
on our smaller items, nor do they print well in all caps. Additional

Cooper Black, Linotext, Revue and University Roman.
